Kansas City Firm Sends Disaster Ready Response Team to Aid with
Katrina.
Kansas City,
Missouri, September 6, 2005- Clarence M.
Kelley and Associates (CMKA) has deployed two teams to protect a prominent New
Orleans hospital during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Early Saturday, September 3, 2005 with security clearance
from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), a full supply of food, water
and all other necessary supplies, CMKA’s Disaster
Ready Response Teams were ready and headed for New Orleans
with a mission to provide security and protection for a New Orleans hospital. Two teams of armed
agents were sent to evacuate the vacant hospital of any unauthorized occupants
as well as provide continued security to prevent any looting of valuable
hospital equipment and medical supplies. The teams are also prepared to offer
additional protection to hospital personnel requiring access to and from the
facility. CMKA’s services will continue as long as
the situation is deemed necessary.
The Disaster Ready Response Teams were able to mobilize and
deploy to New Orleans
within 24 hours of the authorization to provide services. “As soon as the call
came in from the client we could sense the urgency and began preparing
immediately. Our men are trained to handle these types of situations and worked
rapidly to prepare for departure” Tom Dupriest,
President and CEO said. The teams will be able to provide continual support to
the client through facilitation of the men in New Orleans
with the support team at the headquarters office in Kansas City, MO.
ABOUT
Disaster Ready Response Team
The members of CMKA’s Disaster
Ready Response Teams have all been trained to operate in areas which have
suffered disaster. They all have prior military experience as well as continual
training and certifications such as CPS (Certified Protection Specialist), CPP
(Certified Protection Professional) and EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). The
teams assess each disaster situation and are prepared to overcome or adapt to any
obstacle they may encounter, such as those related to Katrina: lack of electricity,
no food or water supply, no plumbing, disease, and lawlessness. The teams are
also prepared to coordinate with the National Guard troops in place.
